Darkdevil #1
Writer: Tom DeFalco
Penciller: Ron Frenz
Synopsis: Darkdevil's origin is revealed as he uncover a conspiracy.
Comments: The opening narration gives theories to Darkdevil's origin. A lot of them are probably various fan theories.
Various characters are named after comic book professionals, most of whom worked on Daredevil. Miller Mackenzie (sic) is named after Frank Miller and Roger McKenzie. Janson is named after Klaus Janson. Glynis ONeil is named after Glynis Oliver aka Glynis Wein and Denny O'Neil. The guard is named after Marvel editor Ralph Macchio. Janson and Miller seem to be based on the people they're named after but I'll let you be the judge.
Cameo by Betty Brant.
Marcus Stone was a recurring character in DeFalco/Frenz's Thor run.
Reilly's experience was the opposite of Peter's in that his relationship with his aunt and uncle was not a happy one. I'm fairly convinced Reilly's other "uncle" Kaine worked over the abusive uncle.
Darkdevil has spider sense but the there isn't a buzzing visual effect emanating from his head. His wall crawling ability never seems to be demonstrated. If it had been shown earlier, it probably would have been too much a tell to his true identity. In any event, teleportation gets him where he needs to go.
Elizabeth Tyne in the 616 continuity went to prison for killing her father.
