Spider-Girl #26

Writer: Tom DeFalco
Penciller: Pat Olliffe

Synopsis: Having lost her powers, May contemplates her next move.

Comments: The cover which features the Spider-Girl costume in the trash can is reminiscent of that iconic full page spread from The Amazing Spider-Man #50 of Peter leaving his Spider-Man costume in a trash can.

May going to the doctor after she lost her powers may remind some people of Peter going to the doctor in Spider-Man 2 (2004) after he lost his powers, but this comic out a few years before that. Spider-Man once sought out a clinic when his powers were fading only to found out he had the flu in ASM #87.

I'm puzzled as to why Phil and Meredith make such a big deal over how old Reilly looks. When his face is revealed in Darkdevil #1, he doesn't look that old. Also, Reilly's hair color is inconsistent in his first few appearances. My explanation is that his ability to project an illusionary appearance allowed him to change his hair color.
