Amazing Spider-Girl #16

Writer: Tom DeFalco
Penciller: Ron Frenz

Synopsis: Spider-Girl is targeted for assassination.

Comments: Nice continuity nod from the Fantastic Five mini-series in which China was devastated by Dr. Doom's attack.

This is the last time we Daniel. This doesn't seem to bode well for him.

Peter finds out Benjy has spider powers fittingly while Benjy is wearing a Spider-Man outfit.

I was going to ask what Mary Jane's qualifications are to be a school counselor which usually requires a master's degree in school counseling. I do remember in the Spider-Man comics in the late 90s, she majored in psychology at ESU. In Spider-Girl, she's now a fashion designer and the owner of The Spider Shoppe. Did she quit her fashion designing job. I know she delegates the management of The Spider Shoppe.

I'll share this screenshot again in which the bottom half features some panels modeled on an Amazing Spider-Man issue.

Fancy Dan first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #10 as a member of The Enforcers.

Gene is being a manipulative jerk.

Deadspot's powers of being able to kill by touch reminds me of Daredevil villain Death-Stalker and the Alpha Flight villain Deadly Ernest.  Chesbro being unaffected by Deadspot's touch and his pulse being strong indicates that he might be immortal and/or not human. In Tom DeFalco's Amazing Spider-Man's run, Chesbro had close ties to Roughhouse, an Asgardian rock troll and Bloodscream, an immortal pseudo-vampire. Chesbro could be a dwarf from Asgard, not just a human with dwarfism. In Captain America #384, other Asgardian on Earth exiles were revealed to be the superhero Jack Frost, a diminutive frost giant and the ice worm, the spawn of an ice giant and the Midgard Serpent.

Spider-Girl versus the most fearsome foe of all: Bridezilla.

May is still being stalked. This time you can see that the stalker is wearing a Midtown backpack.
