Amazing Spider-Girl #9

Writer: Tom DeFalco
Penciller: Ron Frenz

Synopsis: Spider-Girl helps with the security around Specimen 297.

Comments: Agent Weadon has a new team. The new team consists of Earthshaker, Mr. Abnormal and Killerwatt. Killerwatt, for some reason, now covers his face. The two that graduated with honor are Raptor and Big Man and the one that went AWOL was Quickwire who was shown looting in Last Planet Standing #5. Weadon is joined by S.H.I.E.L.D.  agent Maria Hill, who first appeared in The New Avengers #4.

Spider-Girl uses the "feeling loose and slamming heat" line that was used in her first appearance in What If #105.

Uh-oh. Courtney sees Moose with another girl and jumps to conclusions. I mean, she'll say later that it was seeing Moose's father in bad shape is what made her upset, but whatever. This is similar to Thor #427 by DeFalco and Frenz where Eric Masterson goes to visit his girlfriend Jackie Lukus and another man answers the door.  In three issues, I'll show the resolution both of these situations.

Kaine recounts how he sent Quickwire to the ICU.

Spider-Girl meets S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine ("Val"), who first appeared in Strange Tales #159. There is some conspiracy since Val is apparently trying to steal Specimen 297 that Maria Hill wanted protected.

Carnage's name is always used as a noun to describe him.
