Spider-Girl #96

Writer: Tom DeFalco
Penciller: Ron Frenz

Synopsis: The Scriers are now after Spider-Girl.

Comments: I think Coach Thompson looks like Thomas Wilson, who best known for playing Biff Tanner in the Back to the Future franchise. It kind of fits since Biff was a bully jock in high school and was kind of heavyset later in life. Make up and padding, of course.

How does Slatter, an assistant principal, have the power to fire anyone? Also, him being addressed as "assistant principal Slattery" is a big pet peeve of mine. In TV shows and movies, principals are always addressed as "principal name", like Principal Skinner. My principals were just called Mr., Mrs. or Ms.

Felicity's explanation of why she stopped being the Scarlet Spider, kind of explains her long absence.

Felicity is not able to cope with a villain whose order mandates ritual suicide for failure. She's quite vulnerable here.

Moose not blaming Spider-Girl for what happened to his dad will become harsher in hindsight in the Amazing Spider-Girl series.
