Captain America Corps #4

Writer: Roger Stern
Penciller: Phil Briones

Synopsis: The Captain America Corps join in the assault against the Americommand government.

Comments: The agents being told to stand down by Fury are this timeline's versions of Henry Peter Gyrich and Jean DeWolff.

At the table, I recognize Nick Fury, The Punisher, Spider-Man, Wyatt Wingfoot, Greer Nelson, Misty Knight and Matt Murdock. It was mentioned last issue, but the Negative Zone incident that claimed the lives of male Fantastic Four members is this timeline's version of Fantastic Four Annual #6.

The universe image on the Contemplator's face indicates that he is cosmically aware.

I can't identify the woman in green standing between Ulysses Bloodstone and Paladin. Princess Python? The Beast accurately quotes Macbeth. I hate it when people say "Lead on, Macduff", as if they want you to take them somewhere because the original context was "Bring it on!" when Macbeth had his final battle with Macduff.

American Dream uses a gun which seems kind of un-Captain America to me. Maybe they're rubber bullets.

American Dream's of course calls her team the "Dream Team." Just like what she called her band of Avengers who joined in A-Next #4. Is "What the deuce" said in a Stewie Griffin voice? Nice of Electro and the Fixer to avenge their fallen comrades.

Machinesmith was the villain of a Captain America story arc (issues #247-250) written by Roger Stern.
