Spectacular Spider-Girl vol. 2 #3

Writer: Tom DeFalco
Penciller: Ron Frenz

Synopsis: Spider-Girl vs. the Punisher!

Comments: I with the big blocky body on Punisher, I can almost see a twinkle of Punisher artist John Romita Jr. here. But that's just me.

"We don't need your help!" Okay, actually we need your help!"

Chesbro is pretty good at parkour.  Barraca also refers to Drasco as his "pet cop" which Spider-Girl did in Amazing Spider-Girl #7. I believe the Hobgoblin did so in the past, but I forgot to note it.

Spider-Girl pulls Wild Card towards her like she did with the Green Goblin in What If #105/Spider-Girl #0. Wild Card is amazed by her speed that she caught the card, but Batman was able to catch a sharp edged card the Joker threw at him in the Batman: the Animated Series episode, "The Last Laugh."

I don't think this was Peter's best idea.

It's revealed Drasco is controlled by the mob due to them paying for his daughter's medical bills. It's kind of common trope since Det. Nick Manolis gave false testimony against Matt Murdock in exchange for his son's surgery being paid for in Daredevil #227. In The Dark Knight, Ramirez says the mob got her over her mother's medical bills. Even in The Shield, Vic Mackey uses the money he gets from his corruption to pay for his son's expensive special needs school.

The Hobgoblin's pose here is taken from his first appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #238.
