DeFalco/Frenz Retrospective: Jughead Double Digest #175

Writer: Tom DeFalco
Penciler: Ron Frenz

Synopsis: The adventures of Captain Hero, Jughead Jones alter-ego.

Comments: Rebound? I guess there's not many names left for a bouncing superhero. Tom DeFalco already used "Ricochet" in Amazing Spider-Man

I'm not really sure what Captain Hero's powers are. They seem to be whatever the plot demands.

Jughead is the drummer for the Archies is the joke since Rebound can't recall. As for the Big E, with great power indeed.

Captain Hero transforming back into Jughead reminds me of a Billy Batson/Captain Marvel transformation.

Dilton mentions unstable molecules which was invented by Reed Richards and first mentioned in Fantastic Four #11.

Well, the magic explains why no one recognizes Captain Hero as Jughead Jones.

Suspicious and cowardly lot, a play on the Batman origin that called criminal a superstitious, cowardly lot.

Rebound seems to have as good of an understanding of what irony is as Alanis Morissette. Actually, his understanding may be better.
