DeFalco/Frenz Retrospective: Thor #458

Writer: Tom DeFalco
Penciler: Ron Frenz

Synopsis: It's Thor vs. Thor.

Comments: The good old homage cover to Thor #126.

Eric brings up the economy as part of his financial troubles. This comic was published in early 1993, but it was written in late 1992 when Bill Clinton defeated George H.W. Bush in the presidential election and the poor economy was cited as one of the reasons for Bush's defeat.

Marcy went from being Eric's executive assistant to Kevin's au pair.

Kevin brings up Magniconte and Corbin again, the characters from DeFalco and Frenz's New Universe series, Kickers, Inc.

Another Flintstones reference to go with all the others in Thor

Eric finally meets Shatterfist, his insurance that he would not die until he at least met him, and freezes. He also unintentionally names him.

Eric gets more platitudes from Captain America.

Mesmerized by the Enchantress, Eric picks a fight with Thor and Sif is injured in the process.
