DeFalco/Frenz Retrospective: Thunderstrike #16

Writer: Tom DeFalco
Penciler: Ron Frenz

Synopsis: Thunderstrike arranges for Titania to try and settle her old score with She-Hulk.

Comments: So this story pretty much takes parts of from earlier Absorbing Man/Titania stories DeFalco and Frenz did in Amazing Spider-Man #283, Thor #436, and Thor #447-448.

It starts off with the Absorbing Man finding out Titania is stealing. He always knows she's stealing because he turns into the form of whatever valuable she stole.

Titania blames her stealing on having PTSD from her fight with She-Hulk like she did with Spider-Man in Amazing Spider-Man #283.

Bobby Steele uses the "what the doctor ordered" cliché that Bloodaxe used once in Thunderstrike #9. At this point, I think the creators were trolling the fans. He also rages in a locker room where Bloodaxe is frequently seen in the shadows.

Thunderstrike talks She-Hulk into a cockamamie scheme with lots of insane troll logic the way Absorbing Man talked him into trying to scare Titania straight in Thor #447.

Thunderstrike and She-Hulk meet Absorbing Man and Titania at the same Shakespeare in the Park location that Eric battled them at in Thor #436. Creel says he left his ball and chain at home, but he brought Titania. Ba-da-bum!

I don't think it was ever revealed how Eric knew about that desert location.

Stellaris joins the battle, but she ends up being too much for the Absorbing Man to...absorb.

Bloodaxe's informant overhears someone named Herdling (probably named after Marvel writer Glenn Herdling) and decides to investigate Malachi Technologies.
