DeFalco/Frenz Retrospective: Thunderstrike #24

Writer: Tom DeFalco
Penciler: Ron Frenz

Synopsis: The end of Thunderstrike!

Comments: Thor is striking that Crisis on Infinite Earths pose on the cover. Although it can also be an Uncanny X-Men #136 cover pose as well.

The Avengers seem more understanding here than they did last issue about what Thunderstrike needed to do to defeat Seth.

Jackie Lukus is doing her best Sarah Connor impersonation from Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Eric's fight turns internal and he dies when his mace and the axe reach critical mass.

Eric's death is felt deeply by those around him.

Despite being offered a place in Valhalla, Eric decides to take his chances on the other side like other mortals. Odin and Thor currently have a strained relationship. What else is new?

Eric's friends pay their last respects at his tombstone with Thor adding "The World Still Needs Heroes" on his tombstone. Kevin seems to be at peace, but will show up troubled in his own series, 15 years later. How did Jackie get out of jail/mental ward after having killed so many people? Did Odin testify on her behalf?
