DeFalco/Frenz Retrospective: Thunderstrike #19

Writer: Tom DeFalco
Penciler: Ron Frenz

Synopsis: Thunderstrike deals with life after his confrontation with Seth.

Comments: Another subtle hint about Bloodaxe's identity in that they want their relationship with Thunderstrike to change.

Thunderstrike's confusion over Seth being able to alter his appearance happened again in Spider-Girl #57 where she was confused by Seth's appearance. Seth went back to his classic look when Tom DeFalco made him the villain in Journey into Mystery when Thor was lost during the Onslaught storyline.

Seth meets up with Loki's spirit which Thor freed from Mephisto's realm in Thor #482.

Eric and Kevin's strained silence reminds me of Spider-Girl #2, scripted by DeFalco, where Peter and May have a similar awkward lunch date.

Stellaris knows who Bloodaxe is and apparently doesn't view them as a threat to bust then and there.

Black Widow tricks Thunderstrike to be on a home shopping network, but after seeing what poor spokesman he is, Marcy takes Hercules up on his offer to take Eric's place as her spokesman since he is more high profile and outgoing.

Eric sees that even though he has transformed into his human self, he still has the mark of Seth. The way the water is drawn on his face makes it look like his face is melting.
