MC2 Mystery: Who are Bluestreak's Parents?

 

Hardly anything is known about the background of Bluestreak a.k.a. Blue Kelso. The last name of Kelso does not seem to come from any established character in Marvel up to that time. Bluestreak could be a runaway, but not a Runaway or could have other reasons for hiding her identity. In Quasar #17, an Elder of the Universe called The Runner held a competition for all the speedsters on Earth. Those who participated provide a good jumping off point to help speculate who Bluestreak's parents may be. Since Bluestreak seems to be Caucasian, the female participants in the race, Captain Marvel (Monica Rambeau) and Black Racer are African-American, they are not likely to be her mother. 

James Sanders a.k.a Speed Demon and Lelia Davis--Speed Demon (James Sanders) had a brief flirtation with getaway driver Lelia Davis in Deadly Foes of Spider-Man. However, it was a ruse on Lelia's part since she was a widow of the Ringer and only infiltrated the Syndicate to get revenge on the Beetle. But who knows, they may have reconnected and parents like that are people Bluestreak would probably want some distance from. 

Buried Alien a.k.a. FastForward--I said the name "Blue Kelso" out loud several times and I could not find a pun as to give me a clue to her name. However, saying "Buried Alien" out loud and you may pick up that he's the amnesiac Barry Allen, the Flash from DC. With a parent of such uncertain origins, Bluestreak may have chosen a different name. 

Super Sabre a.k.a. Martin Fletcher--A superhero mutant who operated during World War II. Due to Marvel's sliding timescale, I wonder if that has changed or if his mutant physiology gave him a longer lifespan? Bluestreak does wear blue like Super Sabre, but she doesn't necessarily have to be his child. She could be his descendent. 

Quicksilver and Crystal--I remember seeing a theory that Bluestreak is Luna, the established daughter of Quicksilver and Crystal. Bluestreak's costume is somewhat modeled after Quicksilver as is her analogous place on the team mirroring the Cap's Kooky Quartet era. 

Whizzer a.k.a. Stanley Stewart and Madeline Stewart--For awhile, the Whizzer was marooned on our Earth, but eventually got his way back home to his wife. Stanley and Madeline had a daughter named Tina, who could have received Stanley's powers. It's unclear to me whether Tina was conceived before or after Stanley received his powers. However, Tina Stewart could be on our Earth as Bluestreak. 

Makkari--An Eternal with super speed who has probably sired multiple children and has many descendants over the years. 

Nuklo a.k.a. Robert Frank Jr.--The mutant son of the Whizzer a.k.a. Robert Frank Sr. and his wife Miss America a.k.a. Madeline Joyce Frank. Originally a giant nuclear monster, Frank was later cured of his condition and could have gone on to have children.
